Sir Iqbal Sacranie is a distinguished community leader and businessman with over four decades of dedicated service to the Muslim community in the United Kingdom and internationally.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Muslim Trade Forum and leads the UK delegation to the Makkah Halal Forum, playing a key role in promoting ethical trade, economic cooperation, and engagement between global Muslim business communities.

Sir Iqbal is Chairman of the Global Group of Companies, specialising in real estate and international trade. He also serves on the boards of several business and charitable organisations, where he contributes his extensive expertise in socio-economic development. His international roles include board membership at the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) based in Malaysia, Vice President of the International Cooperation Platform (ICP) in Türkiye, and Patron of the World Memon Organisation (WMO).

A pioneer in the establishment of prominent Muslim institutions in the UK, Sir Iqbal was instrumental in founding the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and was elected its Founding Secretary General in 1997. He continues to serve the organisation as a Senior Advisor.

Throughout his career, Sir Iqbal has held numerous influential positions, including serving as Chairman and Trustee of Muslim Aid, a leading international humanitarian relief organisation. He has also acted as an advisor to three former UK Home Secretaries, reflecting the high regard for his leadership and counsel.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to community service and charitable work, Sir Iqbal was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1999 and was subsequently Knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2005. He has received numerous international accolades in acknowledgment of his lifelong service and leadership.

Sir Iqbal is a respected and regular speaker at international conferences and forums, where he continues to advocate for interfaith understanding, community cohesion, and global economic collaboration.
